A few weeks ago, I wrote about one of my favorite things to do: connect great women to great women.

The responses made me smile because so many of you wrote back and said, “That is so you.“

They’re right.

There are few things I enjoy more than recognizing the possibility between two people and opening the door to a conversation. Over the years, I’ve watched introductions turn into partnerships, friendships, podcast interviews, speaking opportunities, and businesses that grew because the right people met at the right time. I’ve always believed that one meaningful introduction can create a ripple effect far greater than either person could have imagined.

Sometimes those introductions happen one conversation at a time. Sometimes I open the door much wider.

This week, I found myself making a list of people to reach out to on behalf of one of my clients, Jen Thompson, who is hosting the Women of Mergers & Acquisitions Impact & Growth Summit this fall.

As many of you know, before building my coaching business, I spent more than two decades in the corporate world. One of my roles included leading the marketing and branding integration of more than twenty acquisitions. Along the way, I built relationships with remarkable women and men throughout the mergers and acquisitions community. Over the years, that circle has continued to expand as I’ve met more leaders, entrepreneurs, advisors, and dealmakers working in this space.

As I looked over my list, I realized I knew more than twenty-five people who might benefit from attending the conference or who might know someone who would. So I began reaching out, one conversation at a time.

Every outreach carried my endorsement. I felt good reaching out because I know Jen, I believe in her vision, and I trust the experience she’s creating.

It’s moments like these that remind me why I never take opening the door to my community lightly. For years, I’ve described this way of leading and building relationships as your Connection & Collaboration Quotient™.

What I’ve learned over the years is that a high Connection & Collaboration Quotient™ also carries responsibility. Every introduction, invitation, recommendation, or opportunity you share is an extension of your reputation. You’re lending your credibility, your relationships, and the trust you’ve spent years building. That’s why I don’t simply ask, Who should I connect? I also ask, Who will honor the trust behind this opportunity?

If you’ve been in business long enough, you’ve probably experienced both sides of this. You’ve introduced someone who created tremendous value for everyone involved, and you’ve introduced someone who never fully stepped into the opportunity that had been opened for them.

Those experiences remind us that opening the door is only the beginning. Every opportunity to step into someone else’s community comes with a responsibility to steward the trust that made that opportunity possible.

As I’ve reflected on this over the years, five principles continue to guide me.

1. Build relationships before you need them.

The strongest relationships aren’t built during moments of need. They’re built over years of curiosity, generosity, shared experiences, and genuine care. Your Connection & Collaboration Quotient™ grows every time you invest in a relationship with no agenda beyond getting to know another remarkable human being.

2. Learn to recognize possibility.

One of my favorite gifts is seeing the potential that exists when two people meet. One woman may need a stage. Another may be looking for a speaker. One entrepreneur may have the perfect solution to someone else’s challenge.

A high Connection & Collaboration Quotient™ isn’t just about knowing people. It’s about recognizing the possibilities that emerge when the right people come together.

3. Open doors with intention.

I don’t open doors simply because someone asks. I do it because I genuinely believe the relationship, opportunity, or invitation has the potential to create value for everyone involved.

Every recommendation, introduction, and invitation reflects your credibility. When you choose to share your relationships, you’re extending trust you’ve spent years building. That’s something I never take lightly.

4. Steward the trust behind every opportunity.

If you’re fortunate enough to have someone open the door for you, the responsibility shifts. When someone welcomes you into their community, they’re sharing years of trust they’ve built with the people they know. Honor that gift. Follow through. Communicate well. Respect people’s time. Look for ways to create value. Make the person who opened that door feel grateful they did.

Every opportunity to step into someone else’s community comes with a responsibility to steward the trust that made that opportunity possible.

5. Pay it forward.

One of the greatest ways to honor an opportunity is to become someone who opens doors for others. Share your relationships thoughtfully. Look for opportunities to create meaningful collaborations. Introduce remarkable people when you see the potential for something bigger than either could create alone.

That’s how the ripple effect continues. One conversation. One opportunity. One thoughtfully opened door at a time.

That’s the real joy of connection.

When I look back over my career, nearly every meaningful opportunity can be traced back to a conversation and someone who was willing to open a door. I’ve always tried to honor those moments because I know the trust behind them was earned over many years.

In a world where technology makes it easier than ever to find people, trust remains our greatest currency. We earn it through consistency. We strengthen it through generosity. And every time we choose to share it, we have the opportunity to create a ripple effect that extends far beyond ourselves.

That’s the heart of a high Connection & Collaboration Quotient™.

The past two days have been spent in one of my favorite places on earth.

I was leading the second Equine Vision Journey retreat of the season, walking alongside my VIP clients as they stepped away from the pace of everyday business and into the quiet wisdom that becomes available when we finally give ourselves permission to pause.

The timing couldn’t have been more meaningful. Our retreat began on July 27, just as many recognize the opening of the Lions Gate Portal, a season that extends through August 12. Lions Gate provides an invitation to become more intentional and created a beautiful backdrop for the work we were doing together.

Throughout the retreat, nature seemed to be speaking right alongside the horses. Hawks called from the trees and hummingbirds appeared again and again. The horses, as they always do, reflected exactly what each woman needed to see. Every encounter felt like another invitation to slow down, pay attention, and trust what was unfolding.

I’ve come to understand that the horses aren’t giving us answers. They create the conditions where we become still enough to hear the wisdom we’ve been carrying all along.

Stepping away creates room for something that rarely happens in the rhythm of everyday life. The mental chatter softens. The urgency fades. Space opens for clarity, perspective, and remembering what truly matters. Dreams that have been tucked away begin to reappear, and the quiet wisdom that’s been whispering beneath the surface finally has a chance to rise.

Every Equine Vision Journey reminds me why this work matters so deeply.

The horses have an extraordinary ability to meet each person exactly where they are. They notice the subtle shifts in energy, the places where something feels open, and the places that are asking for attention. Their feedback is immediate, honest, and completely free of judgment. Every interaction becomes an invitation to be more present, more aware, and more deeply connected to ourselves.

That has changed the way I coach.

Over the past several years, I’ve become increasingly aware of the role our bodies play in our leadership. As I coach, I’m listening to the words my clients are saying, but I’m also noticing where energy feels constricted, where tension is being held, and where something feels muddy or stuck. Often, I can feel those places in my own body as we’re working together.

Our bodies are always communicating with us.

When someone finally gives themselves permission to release what they’ve been carrying, I can almost feel the shift happen. Breathing changes. Shoulders soften. Energy begins to move again. What felt heavy becomes lighter. What seemed impossible begins to feel available. Expansion naturally follows release.

Perhaps that’s one of the greatest lessons the horses continue to teach me. Leadership isn’t simply something we think our way into. It’s something we embody.

As I write this today, I’m sitting in a beautiful pause between retreats. Tomorrow I’ll welcome my Business Alchemy clients for two days together, where we’ll take the vision uncovered with the horses and begin translating it into purposeful strategy for the months ahead.

This space between the retreats feels like a gift.

It’s giving me time to integrate everything I witnessed over the past two days before stepping into the next conversation. And if I’m being honest, these retreats nourish me every bit as much as they nourish my clients. Every time I spend time with the horses, I leave feeling more grounded, more present, and more connected to what matters most. This work feeds something deep within my own soul.

As we continue moving through this Lions Gate season, perhaps this is your invitation to pause as well.

Notice the signposts around you. Nature has a remarkable way of reflecting what we’re ready to hear, if we’re willing to pay attention. A hawk calling in the distance. A hummingbird appearing at just the right moment. A conversation that lingers long after it’s over. Sometimes the messages arrive quietly.

Pay attention to your body. Where are you carrying tension? Where does your energy feel constricted? Where does it feel expansive? Your body often recognizes what your mind hasn’t yet put into words.

And finally, give yourself permission to play with the energy of this season. Whether Lions Gate holds spiritual meaning for you or simply serves as a reminder to become more intentional, let it be an invitation to dream a little bigger, listen a little deeper, and trust your own inner wisdom a little more fully.

I’ve learned that our greatest breakthroughs rarely arrive because we pushed harder. More often, they appear because we created enough space to hear what our soul, our body, and perhaps even nature have been trying to tell us all along.

These retreats remind me that wisdom is rarely something we have to chase. More often, it’s something we create room to receive. I’m curious... what are you noticing in your own life right now?

One of the biggest misconceptions I see among women entrepreneurs is the belief that authority arrives one day.

We imagine it will come after we’ve reached a certain revenue milestone, earned another credential, published the book, or accumulated enough years of experience. We keep waiting for the moment when we finally feel qualified enough to walk in all of our work with confidence.

I remember believing that myself.

There was a season when I was convinced I needed to write a book before people would truly see me as an authority. So I wrote a book. Then I found myself believing I needed a podcast. After that, I thought I needed bigger stages, more media opportunities, and a larger audience. Each opportunity opened the door to the next, and I’m grateful for every one of them. But somewhere along the way, every milestone started feeling like the thing. “Once I do this...” “Once I accomplish that...” Apparently, I had become very good at moving my own finish line.

It’s funny how easily we convince ourselves that the next accomplishment will finally make us feel like we’ve arrived.

Looking back now, I realize I had the equation backwards.

My authority wasn’t created by those milestones. Those milestones simply became visible expressions of the authority I had been building for years.

Long before I became an entrepreneur, I spent my career helping organizations build trusted brands and raising up leaders across multiple industries. I learned how ideas influence people, how trust is earned over time, and how thoughtful leadership shapes organizations and cultures.

When I launched my own business nearly two decades ago, I wasn’t starting from zero. I was bringing years of experience, perspective, and wisdom with me. What I hadn’t yet recognized was that every season of my career had been preparing me for the work I would eventually be called to do.

As I began looking back over my own career, I realized there were hundreds of moments where I had been building authority without ever calling it that.

Looking back, I can see how every season added another layer. My business has weathered thriving economies and difficult ones. Years were spent helping organizations discover who they were and what they stood for. Today, that same work has evolved into helping women entrepreneurs uncover the message and the work they’re uniquely here to bring into the world. Along the way came difficult decisions without a roadmap, moments that demanded trusting my own wisdom, and plenty of opportunities to lead before I felt completely ready.

Building authority was woven through every one of those moments. I simply hadn’t recognized it yet.

One of the most meaningful exercises I’ve ever done is creating what I now think of as my Authority List.

It wasn’t a list of accomplishments or credentials. It was a list of the experiences that shaped me. The businesses I’d built. The challenges that stretched me. The clients I’d served. The lessons I could only have learned by living them.

Looking back through those experiences, I realized something surprising. I had been building authority all along.

So often we overlook the very experiences that make us valuable because they’ve become so familiar to us. We assume everyone knows what we know or sees what we see. They don’t.

Your clients have probably Googled the information before they ever found you. They’re not hiring you because you know more facts than the internet. They’re choosing you because you’ve lived the experience. They’re investing in your ability to recognize patterns they can’t yet see, ask better questions, offer meaningful perspective, and help them move toward possibilities they couldn’t reach on their own.

That’s what authority creates.

It builds trust long before someone schedules a discovery call because people begin recognizing that your perspective consistently helps them think differently.

One of the biggest shifts I see in the women I coach doesn’t happen when they earn another certification or reach a new revenue goal. It happens when they begin recognizing the value of the wisdom they’ve already earned.

I love watching that moment.

It’s rarely dramatic. More often it’s a quiet realization. Something softens. They stop questioning every decision. Their message becomes clearer. They begin contributing their ideas with a steadiness that wasn’t there before because they finally recognize that they’ve earned the right to lead the conversations they’re here to lead.

That’s what I mean by embodying our authority.

It isn’t something we perform or announce. It isn’t something we have to convince people we possess. It’s something people experience because we’re leading from lived wisdom instead of borrowed confidence. Our presence changes. Our message becomes more grounded because it’s rooted in experience rather than trying to impress.

One of my favorite things about the season of business I’m in today is watching my clients step into that same realization.

It’s why I smile every time I sit down to write another Movement Makers in Action story.

Every woman I’ve featured has a different business, a different story, and a different mission. What connects them is their willingness to recognize the wisdom they’ve earned and contribute it in a bigger way. As I’ve watched them write books, launch podcasts, step onto stages, grow thriving businesses, and lead meaningful conversations, I’m reminded again and again that authority isn’t reserved for a select few.

It’s built over a lifetime of learning, serving, leading, and contributing. The books, podcasts, stages, awards, and recognition simply become visible expressions of what has been growing within them all along. Watching that unfold never gets old. It’s one of the greatest joys of my work.

Before you move on with your day, I’d love to invite you to do something for yourself. Start your authority list.

Write down every experience that has shaped the leader you’ve become. Include the seasons that tested you, the businesses you’ve built, the clients you’ve served, the lessons you’ve learned, the conversations you’ve led, and the moments when someone trusted you enough to ask for your guidance.

Simply remember.

Perhaps that’s what embodiment really is. It’s recognizing that your life has been preparing you for this work all along.

The experiences you’ve gathered become the source of your wisdom.

Your wisdom shapes the message you’re here to share.

And that message becomes the invitation that helps the right people find their way to you.

Recognition has a way of changing how we lead. We stop looking outside ourselves for permission because we’re grounded in the wisdom we’ve already earned. And when that happens, something beautiful unfolds. The right clients begin to trust us. New opportunities begin to appear. Our ideas find the people who need them most.

Not because we claimed authority.

Because we embodied it.

Women entrepreneurs are reshaping the business landscape.

According to the 2025 Impact of Women-Owned Businesses Report from Wells Fargo, women-owned businesses have grown at nearly twice the rate of businesses owned by men over the past several years. Today, women own more than 15.7 million businesses across the United States, representing more than 40% of all businesses.

Those numbers are extraordinary.

Women are stepping into entrepreneurship in record numbers. They are creating businesses rooted in purpose, solving important problems, strengthening communities, and bringing fresh ideas into the marketplace. Every day I meet women who are building businesses they care deeply about, and I believe we’re witnessing one of the most significant shifts in entrepreneurship in our lifetime.

At the same time, another set of numbers deserves our attention.

Nearly nine out of ten women-owned businesses generate less than $100,000 in annual revenue. Only about 12% surpass six figures. Roughly 3% grow beyond $500,000, and fewer than 2% ever reach $1 million in annual sales.

I’ve known these statistics for years, and while there has been a slight upward trend in the number of women-owned businesses surpassing six figures, the broader picture has remained remarkably consistent.

After nearly two decades of working alongside women entrepreneurs, I don’t believe these numbers reflect a lack of talent, intelligence, or ambition. In fact, my experience has been exactly the opposite. I’ve had the privilege of working with women whose ideas have changed industries, whose businesses have transformed lives, and whose leadership has created opportunities for countless others.

Over the past several months, I’ve been highlighting many of these women through my Movement Makers in Action series. They are building businesses that are changing lives while growing into multi-six figures and beyond. They are securing national partnerships, influencing industries, publishing books, launching innovative companies, advocating for meaningful change, and stepping into thought leadership in powerful ways.

Their stories reinforce something I’ve believed for years.

Women have everything it takes to build extraordinary businesses.

So why do so many remarkable women struggle to build businesses that fully reflect the value they create?

I don’t believe there’s one simple answer. I think it’s a combination of factors that often build upon one another over time. As I reflected on the women I’ve coached, the conversations I’ve hosted, and the hundreds of entrepreneurs I’ve interviewed over the years, five themes continued to rise to the surface.

None of these challenges exist in isolation. They influence one another, and together they can quietly limit the growth of even the most capable entrepreneurs. The encouraging news is that every one of them can be addressed. I’ve watched women do exactly that, and in the process, I’ve watched them transform not only their businesses but also the way they see themselves as leaders.

Here are five of the most common patterns I’ve observed.

1. We Don’t Always Fully Own Our Authority

This may be the greatest opportunity I see.

So many women wait until they feel completely ready before stepping into bigger conversations. They hesitate to share an opinion because someone else might know more. They assume another certification, another year of experience, or another client success story will finally give them permission to lead.

Authority grows every time we recognize and fully own the wisdom we’ve earned.

So many women underestimate the depth of their own experience because it has become second nature to them. The conversations they’ve facilitated, the clients they’ve served, the obstacles they’ve overcome, and the patterns they’ve recognized all become part of a wisdom that no one else possesses in quite the same way.

When women begin owning that wisdom instead of overlooking it, everything changes.

I’ve watched women completely change the trajectory of their businesses once they stopped questioning whether they had something valuable to say and started trusting the wisdom they had earned. Some finally shared the message they had been holding back for years. Others stepped onto stages they once believed were reserved for someone “more accomplished.” I’ve watched women walk into a room questioning whether they belonged there and leave six months later leading conversations they never imagined themselves having.

The expertise was already there. Their authority had been there all along. They simply began to own it.

2. We Often Undervalue the Work We Bring Into the World

Undervaluing our work shows up in more ways than pricing.

After nearly two decades of coaching women entrepreneurs, I’ve learned that our greatest gifts often become our biggest blind spots. The work that feels most natural to us is often the very work others value most. Because it comes so easily, we assume everyone else can do it too.

I’ve watched women completely rewrite the trajectory of their businesses once they recognized the value they were already creating. Sometimes that meant raising their prices. Other times it meant packaging years of experience into a signature framework, a keynote, a book, or a new offer that allowed their wisdom to reach more people.

The work hadn’t changed. Their understanding of its value had.

One of the things I admire most about women entrepreneurs is our desire to make a meaningful difference. We care deeply about the people we serve. Honoring the value of our work doesn’t diminish that generosity. It expands it.

A prosperous business gives us the resources to reach more people, create more opportunities, invest in our communities, and continue growing the work we’re here to do.

3. We Stop Investing in Our Own Growth

One lesson I’ve learned throughout my own entrepreneurial journey is that businesses rarely outgrow the leader leading them.

Every meaningful season of growth in my business has been connected to a decision to invest in myself. Sometimes that investment was a coach. Sometimes it was a mastermind, a retreat, or simply putting myself in a room where I knew my thinking would be stretched.

The same has been true for so many of the women I’ve had the privilege of working alongside. Growth accelerates when we’re willing to invest in ourselves and surround ourselves with people who challenge us, champion us, and expand our vision of what’s possible.

I’ve seen women leave Ignite and launch global movements. Others have led advocacy efforts that changed laws in our state. Still others have formed business partnerships through a single conversation, allowing them to better serve their clients while growing together.

That’s one of the reasons I believe so deeply in community. Strategy matters, but so do the people who help us think bigger, ask better questions, and recognize opportunities we might not have seen on our own.

Looking back, I can draw a direct line between the investments I’ve made in my own growth and the opportunities that followed. The investment wasn’t simply in learning something new. It was in becoming the leader my next season of business required.

4. We Leave Too Little Room for Our Own Growth

One of the reasons I love entrepreneurship is that it gives us the freedom to build a business around our lives instead of the other way around. That flexibility matters, especially for women.

Many of us are part of the sandwich generation. We’re caring for aging parents while supporting adult children or helping with grandchildren. We’re showing up for spouses, friends, and our communities. There are seasons when life quite rightly asks more of us, and one of the greatest gifts of owning our own businesses is having the flexibility to respond. We can pause when the people we love need us most, and I would never want to lose sight of how meaningful that is.

The challenge is that those seasons can quietly become our default. Before we realize it, weeks have turned into months, and the business has become almost entirely about serving today’s clients while the work that creates tomorrow’s opportunities continues to wait. The article doesn’t get written. The keynote stays in outline form. The strategic partnership never gets the conversation it deserves. We know those things matter, but they rarely feel as urgent as the people who need us today.

I’ve come to believe that making space for our own growth isn’t selfish. A healthy, thriving business creates choices. It gives us the flexibility to care for the people we love without carrying the constant weight of financial stress. It allows us to contribute more generously, create opportunities for others, and continue doing work that brings us purpose and joy.

One of the greatest gifts we can give the people who depend on us is a business that is strong enough to support both our lives and our calling. That requires us to protect time not only for the people we love, but also for the business that makes so much of that care possible.

5. Women Continue to Face Structural Barriers

Not every challenge women entrepreneurs face is one we can solve on our own.

Despite owning more than 40% of businesses in the United States, women continue to receive only a small fraction of available venture capital funding. In 2024, companies founded solely by women received approximately 2% of all U.S. venture capital investment. Even when women build profitable businesses with strong growth potential, access to capital remains one of the greatest barriers to scaling.

I’ve seen firsthand what happens when women don’t have access to the financial resources they need. Growth slows. Hiring gets delayed. New products remain ideas instead of becoming reality. Opportunities are postponed, not because the vision isn’t there, but because the capital isn’t.

This isn’t simply about building bigger businesses. When women-owned businesses grow, they create jobs, strengthen local economies, invest back into their communities, and open doors for other women. Supporting women entrepreneurs isn’t just good for women. It’s good for all of us.

While we continue advocating for greater access to capital and investment, I also believe we have an opportunity to strengthen the things within our control. When women own their authority, recognize the value of their work, continue investing in their own growth, and build businesses that create space for both purpose and prosperity, they are better positioned to seize the opportunities that do come their way.

The encouraging news is that none of these barriers are fixed.

Authority can be developed. We can learn to recognize and own the wisdom we’ve earned. Businesses can be repriced to reflect the true value we bring into the world. Leadership grows when we continue investing in ourselves. Community expands what’s possible as we collaborate, champion one another, and open doors together. Together, we can continue advocating for greater access to capital so more women have the resources to scale their vision.

This is why I do the work I do.

For nearly two decades, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside women as they found their voice, expanded their visibility, and built businesses with greater purpose, prosperity, and joy. Time and again, I’ve watched them discover that their ideas matter, that their experiences hold tremendous value, and that their businesses can become vehicles for creating meaningful change.

I believe the next decade belongs to women entrepreneurs, not simply because more women are starting businesses, but because more women are redefining what business can be.

The businesses I see flourishing aren’t driven solely by profit. They’re creating good for the whole. They’re built by women who understand the power of collaboration, who see relationships as one of the greatest forms of capital they can build, and who instinctively lift one another as they rise. That spirit of generosity doesn’t diminish success. It expands what’s possible for all of us.

I’ve long believed that women’s wisdom is the medicine our earth needs.

When that wisdom is shared boldly, when women’s voices influence important conversations, and when more women build businesses strong enough to amplify those ideas, we won’t simply change the statistics. We’ll change the way business is done.

That is the future I believe we’re building together.

My hope is that you see yourself in that future. That you continue bringing your ideas forward, trusting the wisdom you’ve earned, and building a business that reflects both your purpose and your ambition. The world needs what only you can bring.

We spent very little time talking about tactics. We weren’t debating the best posting schedule, the latest LinkedIn feature, or how to outsmart the algorithm. Instead, we kept returning to bigger questions about leadership, perspective, trust, and the importance of developing ideas worth sharing.

I don’t think that was an accident. The entrepreneurs creating the greatest momentum today aren’t simply creating more content. They’re becoming known for a point of view.

That feels especially important as AI becomes a bigger part of how we work. I’ve often said that you can’t outsource your leadership of thought.

Today, I’d add this: you can’t AI your leadership of thought.

Don’t get me wrong. I use AI every day. It has become an extraordinary thought partner in my business. It helps me sharpen ideas, challenge my thinking, uncover patterns, and move from a blank page to a much stronger first draft. But there are things AI will never do for us.

• AI can help you organize your thinking. It can’t tell you what you believe.

• AI can strengthen your writing. It can’t give you convictions earned through years of experience.

• AI can accelerate content creation. It can’t replace the wisdom you’ve gained by serving clients, navigating challenges, and learning what truly matters.

• AI can reflect your voice. It can’t create your point of view.

Your perspective is built over time. It’s shaped by your experiences, your values, the lessons you’ve learned, the questions you’ve been willing to ponder, and the people you’ve had the privilege of serving. It grows every time you’re willing to think more deeply, challenge your assumptions, and contribute your ideas to conversations that matter.

As our discussion unfolded, what struck me wasn’t that we all shared the same perspective. Quite the opposite. Each of us brought different experiences, different expertise, and different lenses to the conversation.

Yet we kept returning to the same truth: authority grows when we’re willing to contribute ideas that help people think differently. That, to me, is leadership of thought. It’s one of the reasons I believe visibility is changing.

People rarely remember us because we published another post or showed up on another platform. They remember us because something we shared shifted their thinking. They remember the conversation that gave them a new perspective, the question that challenged an old assumption, or the idea that helped them see new possibilities.

In a world where content is becoming easier to create, I believe perspective becomes even more valuable. The future won’t belong to the entrepreneurs who publish the most. It will belong to those who are willing to think deeply, develop their own point of view, and consistently contribute ideas that move conversations forward. That’s what builds trust, creates authority, and ultimately makes us memorable.

Relationships continue to outperform algorithms. Every panelist came back to the importance of building genuine relationships, creating community, and showing up in rooms where meaningful conversations happen. One comment in the chat summed it up perfectly: “Less platforms, deeper rooms.”

Authority grows over time. It grows as you consistently share ideas that matter, teach what you know, say yes to speaking opportunities, create strategic partnerships, and give people a place to spend time with your thinking. That’s how you become the person people naturally think of when they need your expertise.

AI isn’t replacing human connection. If anything, it is making authentic relationships, original thinking, and lived experience even more valuable.

There were so many wonderful moments throughout the conversation, and I know you’ll walk away with ideas you can immediately apply in your own business.

One of the things I love most about hosting Extraordinary Women Radio is that the conversations don’t end when the recording does. They often stay with me for days, inviting me to continue exploring an idea or to see something from a different perspective.

That happened again this week during my conversation with Jessica Jaramillo and Michelle Fournier of the Presario Group. We spent our time talking about leadership, identity, and learning to trust who we already are. As we wrapped up, Michelle shared a thought that has stayed with me ever since:

“What this world needs is more joy, more women who are alive and vibrant and living a life they love.”

As I sat with those words over the past few days, I realized they touched something much bigger than joy itself.

Over the years, one pattern has emerged again and again in conversations with women entrepreneurs. The women creating the greatest impact aren’t simply focused on building successful businesses. They’re creating businesses that reflect who they are, honor the gifts they’ve been given, and support the lives they want to live. Purpose, prosperity, and joy aren’t competing priorities. They strengthen one another.

It’s easy to become so focused on what’s next that success begins to revolve around the next milestone, the next launch, or the next revenue goal. Those things matter, but they aren’t the whole story. A question that’s worth asking from time to time is whether the business we’re building is also creating a life we love.

That question feels especially important right now. So many women are redefining success on their own terms. They’re designing businesses that create meaningful impact while also creating time for family, space to breathe, opportunities for adventure, and room for the experiences that bring them alive. Perhaps that’s one of the most important shifts emerging for women entrepreneurs today.

The more I reflected on Michelle’s words, the more they connected with something I’ve believed for a long time. When women build businesses that allow them to fully express who they are and how they’re called to serve, the ripple effect reaches far beyond themselves. Their clients benefit. Their families benefit. Their communities benefit. Their leadership expands because they’re bringing more of themselves to the work.

Joy isn’t something we experience after we’ve built the business.

Joy is part of the design.

When we intentionally create businesses that support the lives we’re here to live, joy becomes part of the journey. And perhaps that’s exactly what this world needs. More women who are fully alive. More women sharing their gifts. More women creating businesses they love. More women experiencing the joy that comes from living and leading in alignment with who they were created to be.

Early in my business, I had a coach tell me that speaking was the fastest way to grow my business. I remember hearing those words and immediately thinking, No thank you. The idea of standing on a stage and speaking in front of a room full of people felt terrifying. I was perfectly happy finding different ways to market myself.

Then I wrote my mission: To Raise Up the Voices, Visibility and Businesses of One Million Women Around the World.

And the moment I wrote those words down, something became crystal clear. I couldn’t fulfill that mission one woman at a time.

If I was serious about the impact I wanted to create, I had to get over myself and start stepping onto stages.

That realization didn’t magically make me confident. It simply gave me a bigger reason to move through the fear.

The journey started with getting past my own limiting beliefs. The stories that said I wasn’t ready, wasn’t good enough, or didn’t belong on a stage. Then came confidence, which, in my experience, is built one brave step at a time. Every stage, every interview, every time I shared my message, I became a little more comfortable being seen.

But here’s what I’ve learned over the years: confidence isn’t the destination.

The deeper work is learning to embody your message.

There comes a moment when your focus shifts. You stop worrying about whether you’re saying it perfectly or whether people will like you. Instead, you become deeply connected to why you’re here and who you’re here to serve. Your message stops being something you do and starts becoming something you live.

That’s when visibility changes.

It no longer feels like self-promotion. It becomes an act of service.

Today, I love the stage. Not because nervousness completely disappeared, but because I know there are people in every audience who need the message I’m here to share. And I trust that my willingness to be seen might help someone else step more fully into the work they’re here to do.

I believe each and every one of us was born right here, right now, to make a difference in this world. There is a reason you care so deeply about your work.

The world doesn’t need more noise. It needs more women on fire, boldly sharing the messages they were born to bring into the world.

So, what does it mean to embody your message? Here are a few simple practices to begin exploring:

1. Notice where your message lives in your body.

The next time you’re talking about your work, whether you’re speaking from a stage, meeting with a client, or sharing your story over coffee, pause for a moment and notice. Where do you feel your message? Is it in your heart? Your belly? Your chest? Does it feel expansive and energizing?

Then ask yourself: How can I let my light shine just a little bit more?

Embodied visibility isn’t about becoming someone else. It’s about allowing more of who you already are to be seen.

2. Speak from your core.

Practice bringing your message up from deep within you, from your core, rather than speaking only from your head or the front of your throat. There is a different resonance when your words come from a place of deep knowing.

3. Take your message for a walk.

Literally. As you move, notice your body. Do you feel open and expansive or closed and shrinking? Does your posture change when you talk about the work you’re here to do? Does your energy rise? Our bodies often know before our minds do.

4. Let your message move through you.

Notice how your hands want to move. Notice your breath. Notice the places where you feel alive when you speak about your work. Embodied visibility isn’t about delivering a perfect message. It’s about allowing your whole self to participate in sharing it.

Trust what you’re feeling. The more connected you become to the deeper why behind your work, the more your message begins to live within you. And when that happens, your visibility becomes less about finding the right words and more about allowing the truth of who you are and why you’re here to shine through.

People can feel the difference. They lean in and want to know more. Not because you’ve mastered a script or perfected your elevator pitch, but because your message carries a different energy. It comes from a place of truth, conviction, and deep purpose.

And this my friends, is how you become movement makers.

We stop trying to convince people and start inviting them into something bigger. We become a beacon for the people who need our work, our wisdom, and our leadership. Our message carries a different energy because it is no longer coming from a place of proving ourselves. It is coming from a place of purpose.

You are here to create impact.

The people you are meant to serve are waiting for you to trust your voice, embody your message, and allow yourself to be fully seen.

The premise is simple: make three asks every day for thirty days.

Some asks are business asks. You might ask for a referral, an introduction to someone you’d like to meet, a podcast opportunity, or an invitation to speak. Some asks are personal. You might ask your partner to take out the trash, ask a friend for support, or ask for help with something you’ve been carrying on your own.

Here’s the secret: the challenge isn’t really about the asks.

It’s about expanding our willingness to receive.

As women, we’re often the ones holding up the world around us. We support our families, clients, teams, communities, and friends. We make things happen. We solve problems. We carry a lot. Along the way, many of us become far more comfortable giving than asking.

Yet asking is one of the most powerful growth practices I know. So many of the opportunities, relationships, stages, clients, collaborations, and adventures that have shaped my business started because someone was willing to make an ask.

Now for my confession.

I don’t always follow my own advice.

So today, I’m taking on my own Ask Challenge for the next month, starting with this newsletter.

Here are my three asks:

1. Introduce me to a future Movement Maker.

The women in my Movement Maker Mastermind are creating remarkable ripples in the world. They’re growing businesses with purpose, expanding their visibility, and stepping into bigger leadership.

I’d love to welcome a few more women into the circle this summer. If someone comes to mind who is ready to grow their business, expand their impact, and be supported by an extraordinary community of women entrepreneurs, I’d love a warm introduction.

I’ll take great care of anyone you send my way. I’ll start with a complimentary Prosperity Audit so we can explore where they are, where they want to go, and what opportunities may be available to support their growth. My guess is you’ll discover that people are often more willing to help than we give them credit for. Sometimes all that’s required is being willing to ask.

Summer has always held a unique place in my business.

The pace naturally shifts. Calendars open up a bit. There is more room for time outdoors, meaningful conversations, strategic thinking, and the experiences that bring us joy. I tend to play more in the summer, and I’ve found that season of adventure, connection, and reflection can also be one of the most valuable times of the year for strengthening key relationships, thinking more intentionally about where the business is headed, and creating momentum for the second half of the year.

The fall often brings renewed energy and new opportunities. The entrepreneurs who enter that season with momentum rarely create it overnight. Much of that momentum is cultivated during the summer through meaningful conversations, consistent visibility, and intentional choices about where they focus their energy.

For me, summer has become a season of cultivation. It’s a time to enjoy the people and experiences I love while also creating space for new ideas, deeper relationships, and thoughtful reflection about what’s next. I’ve found that many of the opportunities that shape the second half of the year begin to take root during these summer months.

Here are six ways I’m approaching this summer.

1. Keep the Conversations Going

One of the most valuable things we can do during the summer months is stay connected. While schedules often shift and routines become more flexible, relationships continue to be one of the greatest drivers of growth in our businesses.

I like to set goals around connection each week, whether that’s meeting with clients, referral partners, collaborators, podcast guests, or colleagues. These conversations help me stay connected to what’s happening in my community, what people are thinking about, and where new opportunities may be emerging.

A handful of meaningful conversations can create tremendous momentum. They strengthen relationships, generate referrals, uncover opportunities for collaboration, and often lead to ideas that influence the direction of our businesses. Summer can be a wonderful season for nurturing these connections because there is often more flexibility to slow down, listen deeply, and invest in the relationships that matter most.

2. Choose Marketing That Lights You Up

Summer is a wonderful time to pay attention to the visibility activities that naturally energize you. Rather than trying to do every marketing tactic available, focus on the ways you most enjoy connecting with your audience and building relationships.

I often encourage clients to look at what is already creating momentum in their business. Which conversations are leading to opportunities? Which relationships are opening new doors? Where are you most naturally sharing your expertise and ideas? Summer can be an ideal time to deepen those efforts rather than constantly adding something new.

The most sustainable marketing strategies are often the ones we genuinely enjoy. When your visibility activities align with your strengths and interests, showing up consistently becomes much easier, and consistency is often what creates results over time.

3. Work Where You Feel Inspired

One of my favorite places to work during the summer is on my deck. Fresh air, sunshine, and being surrounded by nature open up my thinking in a different way, and some of my best ideas emerge when I step outside my usual workspace.

A simple change of scenery can spark new perspectives and create the mental space needed for strategic thinking. Whether it’s a patio, a favorite coffee shop, a mountain cabin, or a quiet corner of your home, summer offers an opportunity to pay attention to where you do your best thinking and intentionally spend more time there.

The quality of our ideas is often influenced by the environments we create for ourselves, and summer provides plenty of opportunities to work in ways that feel both productive and inspiring.

4. Protect Time for Play

This year, I’ve blocked boating days with my husband throughout the summer because those experiences matter to me. One of the reasons we build our businesses is to create lives we love, and the people and experiences that bring us joy deserve a place on the calendar alongside our business commitments.

I’ve found that protecting time for what matters most creates a greater sense of alignment in both life and business. Those moments away from work often bring renewed energy, fresh ideas, and a stronger connection to the vision we’re working so hard to create.

For me, this is one of the greatest expressions of both wealth prosperity and time prosperity. Success isn’t only about what we’re building. It’s also about creating the freedom to enjoy the life we’re building it for.

5. Focus on One Meaningful Priority

Summer is not the season to chase every opportunity. Instead, choose one area of your business that deserves your attention and let it become your anchor for the season.

Perhaps you’re refining your offers, building visibility, strengthening your client experience, or cultivating strategic partnerships. Whatever it is, giving consistent attention to one meaningful priority often creates far greater results than spreading your energy across multiple initiatives.

The cumulative effect of focused attention over the course of a summer can be remarkable. Small, intentional actions taken consistently often create the momentum that carries into the second half of the year.

6. Create White Space for Strategic Thinking

Many entrepreneurs spend most of the year in execution mode. We’re serving clients, delivering programs, managing projects, creating visibility, and responding to opportunities. Summer offers a different rhythm and, with it, an opportunity to step back and think more strategically about where we’re headed.

Some of my favorite strategic conversations happen outside the office. This summer, I have several hikes planned with business friends because I’ve found that stepping away from our desks often creates room for bigger thinking. The combination of movement, nature, and thoughtful conversation has a way of opening up new perspectives and helping us see possibilities we might otherwise miss.

This is also the season when I find myself reflecting on bigger questions. What opportunities are emerging? What ideas deserve more attention? Where is the business asking to grow? Which initiatives have the greatest potential to create impact, revenue, and capacity? Some of my most important business decisions have come during moments when I intentionally created space to think. Not because I was working harder, but because I was giving myself the opportunity to look beyond the immediate demands of the day and consider what I wanted to create next.

Use Summer to Build Momentum

One of the greatest opportunities summer offers is the chance to focus on leverage. As entrepreneurs, it’s easy to spend our days creating more. Summer invites a different question: What’s already working that deserves more attention?

As I look ahead to the second half of the year, I’m paying attention to where there is energy, engagement, and opportunity. Those signals often reveal where my attention can create the greatest impact.

I’ve been in creation mode lately, and I have to say, I love this season of business.

Over the seventeen years I’ve been building my company, there have been many iterations of my work. New programs have emerged, frameworks have evolved, and the conversations I have with clients have deepened. Lately, I’ve found myself creating new teachings and tools designed to support entrepreneurs as they grow into multi-six figures and beyond.

What has been inspiring me most is not the creation itself, but the conversations that are shaping it.

The women I work with have already built successful businesses. They have strong foundations, proven expertise, and are making a meaningful impact through their work. What I love about serving entrepreneurs at this level is that every growth conversation is different.

Two women can be generating similar revenue and have very different opportunities available to them. One may be expanding her visibility and thought leadership. Another may be evolving her offers and business model. Another may be positioning herself for a bigger vision. The joy for me is helping each entrepreneur identify the opportunities that are right for her business and then building a strategy that supports where she wants to go next.

That is why I find this stage of business growth so fascinating.

I’ve spent decades doing strategy work, first in the corporate world and now as an entrepreneur. What continues to energize me is the opportunity to step back and look at the entire landscape of a business. I love identifying opportunities that may not yet be obvious. I love connecting seemingly unrelated pieces into a cohesive growth strategy. I love helping clients see how their offers, visibility, positioning, relationships, and business model can work together to support a much bigger vision.

What I’ve come to appreciate over the years is that growth rarely happens because we add more to our plate. More often than not, growth is sparked by a fresh perspective, a bigger vision, or a strategic conversation that uncovers opportunities that have been sitting just below the surface. The most powerful breakthroughs frequently occur when an entrepreneur has the space to think beyond the immediate demands of her business and reconnect with what she truly wants to create.

That’s why these conversations energize me. Together, we explore possibilities, identify opportunities, connect the dots, and create a strategy that supports the next stage of growth.

As we’ve moved deeper into the year, our conversations have naturally shifted toward the next horizon. We’re exploring how to create more capacity, how to increase visibility in meaningful ways, how to expand influence, and how to build businesses that create greater impact while supporting the life each woman wants to live.

These are some of my favorite conversations because they are never about applying a formula. They are about uncovering the unique opportunities that exist within a particular business and creating a strategy that aligns with where that entrepreneur wants to go next.

What I’ve learned over the years is that growth often begins with seeing possibilities that are difficult to recognize when you’re immersed in the day-to-day realities of running a business. Sometimes the most valuable part of a strategic conversation is the ability to step back, look at the bigger picture, and explore opportunities that may have been hiding in plain sight.

Perhaps that’s why I’ve been so energized by this season of creation. The new content I’m developing isn’t replacing the foundations that have always guided my work. It’s helping entrepreneurs apply those foundations in ways that support their next level of growth.

Perhaps the real question is not whether more opportunities exist for your business, but whether you’ve created enough space to recognize them.

Last weekend, I spent two full days planting. Twenty planter boxes. A raised garden bed. Six tomato plants, each tucked safely inside their water towers, ready for Colorado’s unpredictable spring weather.

Putting my hands in the dirt is one of my favorite things to do. It soothes my soul, quiets my mind, and connects me to something deeper. By the end of the weekend, my muscles were definitely feeling the work, but there is a particular kind of satisfaction that comes from creating something with your hands and knowing you’re investing in what will come later.

Even in this first week, I can already see signs of fresh growth. Tiny sprouts are emerging. Leaves are beginning to stretch toward the sun. Every day there is something new to notice.

As I stood in the garden this week, I found myself thinking about how much gardening reminds me of business. We plant seeds. We prepare the soil. We water, nurture, and tend to what matters. Then we trust the process.

The garden doesn’t grow because we stand over it demanding results. It grows because the conditions are right. The soil has been prepared. The seeds have been planted. Water, sunlight, and time do their work.

I’ve found business often unfolds the same way. Relationships are nurtured over time. Conversations open unexpected doors. Visibility creates opportunities. One connection leads to another. Then, often when you least expect it, something begins to blossom. A new client arrives. A speaking opportunity appears. A partnership forms. An idea that once lived only in your imagination starts becoming real.

I’ve always loved paying attention to the seasons in both life and business. Winter invites reflection and contemplation. It offers space to listen, evaluate, and reconnect with what matters most. I love the quieter energy of winter because it gives us permission to dream, envision, and build foundations.

Spring feels different. Spring is where ideas begin to emerge from beneath the surface. It’s the season where possibilities start taking shape. What was once simply a vision begins to become tangible.

I’ve been feeling that spring energy strongly in my own business lately. This past week, I spent time shaping the early vision for this year’s Extraordinary Women Ignite Conference. It is one of my favorite creative processes. I love exploring themes, imagining the conversations that need to happen, and beginning to select speakers who will add wisdom, inspiration, and a little magic to the room. It’s like painting a picture to me.

At the same time, I’ve been creating new teachings for my Movement Maker Mastermind. While the projects are different, they draw from the same source of creative energy. Each started as a spark of an idea and has required trust, curiosity, and imagination to bring it to life. They remind me that creativity is one of the most important forces in a thriving business.

Too often, entrepreneurs become consumed by tasks, checklists, and the endless demands of running a business. Yet creativity is what keeps a business alive. Creativity is what allows us to innovate, solve problems, develop new offers, deepen our message, and create meaningful experiences for the people we serve.

When we make space for creativity, we reconnect with possibility. We remember why we started. We open ourselves to ideas and opportunities that cannot emerge when we’re simply moving from one task to the next.

As we move toward summer, I think there is an invitation here for all of us. Summer is the season of harvest. It’s the season when we begin to see the fruits of what we’ve been cultivating. But harvest doesn’t begin in summer. It begins months earlier when we plant the seeds and commit to nurturing them.

Before rushing toward the next milestone, take a moment to honor what is already growing. Celebrate the conversations that are opening doors. Acknowledge the relationships that are deepening. Notice the ideas that are beginning to take shape.

Growth is happening, even when it isn’t fully visible yet.

Just as we nurture what is thriving and prune what no longer serves the health of the garden, our businesses flourish when we have the courage to cultivate more of what brings us alive and release what has become too heavy to carry.

As summer approaches and the season of harvest draws near, trust the seeds you’ve planted, continue tending what matters most, and allow yourself to enjoy watching it all unfold.

When was the last time you stopped long enough to truly ponder the question: What would I love?

Last weekend, I had the opportunity to participate in their Awaken & Align: From Intention to Manifestation Retreat hosted by my clients at The Presario Group, Michelle Fournier and Jessica L. Jaramillo. The timing felt deeply aligned for me and arrived at exactly the right moment in my life and business.

I’ve had an interesting relationship with the word manifestation over the years. I’ve often gravitated more toward the language of alignment: alignment between my soul, my mission, my business, and the life I want to create.

In fact, the official name of my company to this day is Syzygy LLC, though I do business as Kami Guildner Coaching because almost no one can spell syzygy and most people have no idea what it means.

Syzygy is the alignment of celestial bodies, and the symbolism of that word has stayed with me for years. I even have a syzygy tattooed on my forearm: the moon, the sun, and the stars in alignment. Long before I fully understood why the word mattered so much to me, I was already drawn to the idea of resonance, alignment, and the unseen energy connecting things together.

Years ago, before I named my beloved mare Destiny Dancer, my aunt actually suggested the name Syzygy because of its meaning. I loved the depth and symbolism of the word, though I couldn’t quite imagine yelling “Syzygy!” across the barn. The name eventually became part of my company instead. Looking back now, it feels fascinating to realize how long alignment, resonance, and energy have quietly been woven into my path.

Over the years, I’ve learned that when I feel aligned internally, life and business begin unfolding in ways that feel deeply connected, expansive, and alive. When things feel off inside of me, pushing harder rarely creates the outcome I’m seeking. Those moments have taught me to pause, listen more deeply, reconnect with my mission, and tune back into the calling in my heart. From that place, answers tend to emerge with a stronger sense of direction and knowing.

Last year, I intentionally created more space for pause, reflection, and listening in my life and business. There were moments when I stepped back more than I moved ahead, giving myself room to reconnect with what mattered most, where my energy wanted to go, and what I truly wanted to create next.

What’s fascinating is that this year, I’ve felt a powerful sense of momentum building in my business. Opportunities, conversations, visibility, and aligned growth have been unfolding in meaningful ways. It has reminded me that some of our biggest seasons of expansion are often rooted in the moments when we slow down long enough to truly listen.

I deeply believe in frequency and resonance. I believe the energy we carry matters. Over the years, I developed a whole body of work around this through my #RFactor teachings, focusing on the energy of mind, body, spirit, and community. I love energy work and regularly tune into the somatics of my body, paying attention to what expands me, grounds me, and reconnects me to myself.

At the same time, I’ve had a complicated relationship with the word manifestation and even some of the conversations around ease and flow. Building businesses like we do takes devotion, commitment, courage, and sustained action. Over the years, I had encountered teachings around manifestation that felt disconnected from the reality of what women entrepreneurs are actually carrying and creating in the world. Because of that, I realized I had separated manifestation from the grounded work of building a meaningful business and life.

Lately, though, I’ve been noticing signposts inviting me into a deeper exploration of this conversation. I’ve been participating in a Quantum Leadership Council Pod through The Dames, a women’s group I belong to, listening to podcasts or books that have shown up for me, and following conversations around energy, intuition, and possibility. Every time I encountered these conversations, I felt an immediate yes in my body.

That same feeling came through when Michelle and Jessica invited me to the retreat. I knew it would be magical because I know the depth of their work, and I knew perhaps I was being called to reconnect more deeply to the energetics of my business.

The very first statement I wrote in my journal that morning was: “To really embrace the energy of manifestation and the possibilities that come with that.”

As Michelle kicked off the morning, she made a statement that immediately caught my attention: “You can’t manifest life while hiding your fully expressed truth.”

Ah, I thought. I haven’t fully expressed my own truth around manifestation. I believed deeply in alignment, energy, resonance, and intentional living, though I still carried resistance around the language of manifestation itself.

We explored what we would genuinely love to create in our lives and businesses. We also explored the deeper stories, fears, doubts, and beliefs quietly living underneath those desires. A few of the beliefs that surfaced for me were: “Manifestation doesn’t work.” “I’m not enough.” Ouch. Despite so much evidence to the contrary in my life, those beliefs were still sitting just beneath the surface, quietly lingering in places I hadn’t fully acknowledged.

As Michelle says, we were “lighting that shit up.” We moved through exercises around forgiveness, releasing self-doubt, letting go of attachment and control, and rewiring old patterns and beliefs. There was something powerful about bringing those beliefs into conscious awareness instead of allowing them to quietly shape the background of my decisions, energy, and sense of what was possible.

Somewhere in the middle of the day, I re-realized something I think I had forgotten along the way: manifestation has far more to do with alignment across our mind, body, energy, and desires than I had fully acknowledged. The deeper inner work is part of the process. The emotional work is part of the process. The willingness to tell ourselves the truth is part of the process. When those pieces begin working together in resonance, something powerful opens.

At one point, we were asked the question: “If nothing changes, what will break your heart the most?”

My answer came quickly: “My impact will be less. It will fizzle away to nothing.”

That answer revealed something important to me. I know I’m here to leave a meaningful impact through my work, my voice, and the conversations I’m creating in the world. I also know many women entrepreneurs feel this same calling inside themselves. There is a deep desire to create work that matters, leadership that matters, and businesses that create ripple effects far beyond ourselves.

One of the conversations that especially resonated with me came from their collaborative partner Christina McLoughlin, who taught about the four bodies: spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical. That teaching resonated immediately and felt deeply connected to the work I’ve explored for years through #RFactor.

By the end of the retreat, Jessica taught us to write a Pule, a Hawaiian prayer rooted in our desires, intentions, energy, and the embodied experiences we want to create in our lives. There was something incredibly grounding about bringing desire, intention, embodiment, and energy together in such a conscious way.

I came home with a renewed relationship to the word manifestation and an even deeper relationship to curiosity, resonance, and possibility… words I have always loved. I now have a Pule book that I’ll continue using to write prayers and intentions around the things I would love to create, whether for business visions, upcoming events, travel, family experiences, or dreams that are still unfolding.

What stayed with me most from this experience was the reminder of how important it is to pour back into ourselves. To pause. To step away from the noise and the constant movement of business long enough to listen more deeply. Retreats like this create space for messages, truths, desires, and insights that may be quietly waiting to be uncovered beneath the surface of our everyday lives.

What’s been especially fascinating is that by Monday morning, I could already feel movement aligning with my Pule. Conversations began opening. Ideas started flowing. Possibilities and opportunities seemed to arrive with a different energy around them. There has been a sense of expansion, openness, and momentum moving through this week that feels deeply connected to the intentions and resonance I stepped into during the retreat.

And perhaps that’s part of the magic of all of this: when we reconnect with ourselves, align with what we truly desire, and allow ourselves to fully feel into the energy of it, something begins moving long before we can fully explain how or why.

So I’m curious: When was the last time you truly gave yourself space to pause and ask what you would genuinely love? What might be waiting for you in the stillness, in the listening, and in the willingness to reconnect with your own desires, energy, and alignment?

Last week, I had the joy of hosting a roundtable conversation with Shayla Boyd-Gill, Markey Read, and Shena Marie White around a conversation I intentionally wanted us to explore: what happens when you start outgrowing the business model that got you here?

Women entrepreneurs are building businesses at extraordinary rates. Women now own nearly 39% of businesses in the United States, representing more than 14 million businesses and generating roughly $2.7 trillion annually. Women-founded businesses continue growing at a faster pace than ever before.

At the same time, the leap into higher levels of growth remains challenging. About 88% of women-owned businesses remain under $100K in annual revenue. Roughly 12% reach six figures. Around 5% move into the $100K–$250K range, and fewer than 2% cross into seven figures.

When I look at those numbers, I do not see a talent gap. I see women standing at an important threshold, and perhaps you are standing there too. You’ve built something meaningful and created impact. You know there is more available: more clients, more revenue, greater visibility, bigger opportunities, more time prosperity, and more wealth prosperity.

Maybe you’ve been noticing some shifts in your own business. The people you are being called to serve may be evolving. Revenue may not fully match the level of effort you’re putting in. There may be too many offers, too many launches, or too many moving pieces competing for your attention.

Over time, those layers can create a business that feels heavier to lead. Growth has a way of revealing where a business is ready for simplification, refinement, and a new level of leadership.

That is exactly why I wanted us to have this conversation. I continue seeing women reach a point where the next evolution of their business asks different questions. The move from successful expert to visible thought leader and scalable business owner often asks us to rethink how we are building, leading, and growing our businesses.

As we moved through our conversation together, several important lessons surfaced that I think every woman entrepreneur stepping into her next level should consider.

1. Growth Begins Asking for a New Level of Leadership

As your business grows, leadership begins evolving too. Early seasons of entrepreneurship often ask you to do a little bit of everything. You create opportunities, wear many hats, and figure things out as you go. Those seasons build important strengths and create the foundation for the business you have today.

As opportunities expand and visibility grows, new questions begin emerging. Where does your energy belong? What are you still carrying that no longer requires your attention? What structures would support a stronger level of leadership?

Many women reach a point where they are still leading their businesses as if they are responsible for every moving piece. At the same time, they are feeling called toward bigger rooms, larger conversations, and greater impact. Growth begins asking you to step more fully into the CEO role and create a business structure that supports where you are headed.

Reflection: Where are you still operating from an earlier season of your business when leadership is asking for something new?

2. Complexity Has a Way of Quietly Slowing Growth

If your business has started feeling heavier, complexity may be part of the reason.

As entrepreneurs, we naturally create. New ideas emerge. Opportunities appear. Additional offers get added. Over time, businesses collect layers that once made perfect sense yet no longer fit together in the same way.

You may be feeling this if there are too many offers, too many launches, or too many moving pieces competing for your attention. Complexity pulls your energy toward managing moving pieces and away from leading the business you are here to build.

Growth often becomes an invitation to simplify. Simplify your offers. Simplify your marketing. Create ascending pathways. Build repeatable rhythms. Design for time prosperity. More space often creates more momentum.

3. Revenue and Effort Should Be Moving Together

One of the signals that surfaced in our conversation is something I see often with women entrepreneurs. There comes a point where the level of effort being invested no longer feels aligned with the results being created.

Perhaps your calendar is full. You may be serving clients, showing up consistently, creating content, networking, and doing all the things that once created momentum. From the outside, business may even look successful. Yet underneath it all, there can be a feeling that something is off. Revenue growth may not be keeping pace with the energy you are putting in, and the spaciousness you hoped success would create still feels just out of reach.

This is often where women begin asking different questions. Are your offers aligned with where your business is headed? Have you created pathways that naturally lead people into deeper work? Does your business model support both growth and sustainability?

Success becomes much more meaningful when growth creates more life, more spaciousness, and more joy alongside stronger revenue. Time prosperity and wealth prosperity were never meant to compete with each other.

4. Simplify Your Marketing So Relationships Can Grow

Marketing has become noisy. There is pressure to show up everywhere, create more content, chase algorithms, and stay visible across countless platforms.

Over time, many women entrepreneurs begin carrying far more marketing activity than they actually need.

I continue seeing women put tremendous energy into trying to keep up while wondering why marketing still feels harder than it should. More activity does not always create more momentum. More platforms do not automatically create stronger client relationships.

People want opportunities to know who you are, experience your work, and build trust over time. Relationships remain one of the strongest growth strategies available to us, and marketing creates more momentum when it nurtures connection through meaningful and repeatable touchpoints.

As I reflected after our roundtable conversation, I kept returning to one thought: many women entrepreneurs are standing at an important threshold right now.

Your body is your guide.

If you tune in and simply notice what you’re feeling in your body… where there is tension, where there is softness, where there is fire… you can begin to self-diagnose where you are in any given moment. Are you open or closed? Is your nervous system running on high alert? Or are you feeling balanced, grounded, and aligned?

Our bodies are constantly speaking to us. The question is whether we are listening.

I ran across a quote this morning:

“Be soft. Do not let the world make you hard.” ~ Lain S. Thomas

I paused with that quote for a long moment and considered my own state. I felt the softness. And honestly, that made me happy.

Softness is openness, and trust, and presence. Softness is staying connected to ourselves in a world that constantly tries to pull us into urgency, fear, noise, and armor.

The inner work I’ve done over the years has helped me return to that softness again and again.

Another reference I deeply love is Brené Brown’s idea of having a soft front and a strong back. That resonates with me so much because it speaks to how I want to move through the world. Strong in my voice. Strong in the work I’m here to bring forward. Strong in what I stand for. And also soft and open to the people I am privileged to connect with along the way.

This past year has been a big connection year for me. I’ve made so many new relationships that feel deeply meaningful and expansive. And when I reflect on those moments, I can feel how much openness in my body mattered. When we are guarded, contracted, or constantly bracing ourselves against the world, people feel that. And when we are grounded, open, and fully present, people feel that too.

As entrepreneurs, our presence matters more than we often realize. People experience us before they fully experience our words.

I know I lead with this openness in my body now. But there have also been moments over the past year when my body gave me different signals.

Tightness. An activated nervous system. A feeling of constriction in my chest and shoulders. Sometimes it would happen while listening to the news or witnessing some of the heaviness unfolding in our country.

And I’m grateful for the wisdom I’ve gained to notice. To recognize when I need to step away. To go for a walk in nature. To breathe. To unplug. To return home to myself.

One of the most powerful ways I reconnect to that softness is by heading out to the barn and spending time with my horses.

The horses have taught me so much about embodiment. They mirror us with extraordinary honesty. They don’t respond to our performance. They respond to our nervous systems, our presence, and our truth.

Over the years, they have reflected back so many messages that helped me come back home to myself, especially in moments when I had drifted too far into striving, pushing, or carrying too much. They have taught me to listen to my body. To notice where I hold tension. To notice where I am gripping. To notice where I am being called to soften, release, and trust. They have taught me the wisdom of somatics long before I even had language for it.

And I think this matters deeply for women entrepreneurs right now because many women are building businesses while disconnected from themselves. Constantly overriding what their bodies are trying to tell them. Pushing past exhaustion. Ignoring tension. Living in constant stimulation. Leading from adrenaline instead of alignment.

But our bodies hold profound intelligence. They know when something is off. They know when something is aligned. They know when we are forcing. And they know when we are fully connected to our truth.

Your body is not separate from your leadership. It is one of your greatest guides.

And perhaps one of the most important things we can do in this season is return to listening. To soften where we’ve become hardened. To reconnect where we’ve become disconnected. To trust the wisdom already living inside of us.

It begins with how you embody your message.

Your message only lands as deeply as you live it. It’s about how fully you embody your message in your presence and the way you lead. People feel the connection between your message and your presence, and that connection is what creates trust and the desire to lean in closer.

The horses have been some of my greatest teachers in this work.

When you step into their presence, you enter a different kind of conversation. One that lives beneath words. They meet you exactly where you are, attuned to what is true in the moment. They feel the subtle language of your body, your breath, your attention. They respond to the energy you bring and the truth you are willing to stand in.

There has been a quiet thread weaving its way through my mornings lately. In my meditation, the I Ching kept surfacing. Not once or twice, but enough that I knew it was asking for my attention. So I followed it. I began exploring it more deeply, eventually stepping into a course, and almost immediately, I found myself reflecting on two core energies that felt incredibly familiar.

The sky and the earth.

In I Ching philosophy, the sky represents yang energy. It is movement, creation, forward motion, the part of us that initiates and leads. It carries a strong, directive energy, and as I sat with it, I couldn’t help but think about how much of our business world has been built on this way of operating. We are taught to take action, to be consistent, to show up, to create, to make things happen. And there is power in that. Your ability to lead, to move, and to bring your ideas forward matters.

And then there is the earth. The yin. The receptive, grounded, deeply intuitive energy that holds, nurtures, and receives. It is not passive, even though it is often misunderstood that way. It carries a different kind of strength, one that comes from being connected, from listening, from allowing something to unfold rather than forcing it forward.

And this is where receiving becomes real in our businesses. Receiving lives in how you care for yourself, how you allow your business to support you, and how guidance arises from your intuition and wisdom as you lead. It is an openness to the natural reciprocity of what you give and what comes back… a noticing of the clients, opportunities, and support already moving toward you. Your business sustains and expands as you receive.

As I began to sit with these two energies, I could see them so clearly in business, especially in the conversations we have been having this past month around relationship-driven growth, visibility, and the way clients are choosing who they work with right now.

Because what has become very clear is that building a business through relationship requires more than connection alone. It requires leadership within the relationship.

There has been a strong call to build depth. To create real connection, to slow down enough to truly see the person in front of you, to build trust over time. That is earth energy. That is the willingness to hold space, to listen, and to allow relationships to develop in a meaningful way.

There is also a call to lead. To guide conversations, to open doors, to say the thing that needs to be said, and to help someone see what is possible for them. That is sky energy. That is movement, direction, and initiation.

When one of these is missing, things begin to feel off. Too much action without connection starts to feel forced, and conversations lose their depth. Too much holding without movement slows everything down, and opportunities stay just out of reach.

The power is not in choosing one over the other. It is in learning the rhythm between them.

There is a concept in the I Ching called wu wei. It is often translated as “no action,” but that doesn’t quite capture it. It is not about stepping back or disengaging. It is about right action, the kind of action that comes from being grounded and aware of what is actually needed in the moment.

This is what I see happening when business begins to feel more aligned and more alive. There are moments when your work is to step forward, to be visible, to initiate, and to lead. And there are moments when your work is to listen, to deepen connection, and to allow what you have already created to continue building trust on your behalf.

This is not passive. It is highly intentional. It requires you to stay present with what is unfolding rather than defaulting to habit or urgency.

It is also exactly what I am seeing in how clients are making decisions right now. People are not waiting for a single conversation to decide if they want to work with you. They are experiencing you over time. They are paying attention to your voice, your presence, your consistency, and how they feel when they are in your world. Trust is being built long before a sales conversation ever happens.

That trust comes from a steady rhythm. From showing up and leading, and also from allowing space for people to meet you there.

When you begin to work with both of these energies, your business starts to change shape. Your visibility becomes more intentional, your conversations become more connected, and your relationships begin to open into real opportunities because they are being both held and led.

As I have been sitting with these teachings, I find myself asking a different question in my own business. Not what do I need to do next, but what is the right movement here. Sometimes that answer is to take action. Sometimes it is to pause and listen. And sometimes it is to trust that what has already been set in motion is continuing to work.

So here is what I would invite you to consider.

1. Where are you naturally strong right now? Are you leading, initiating, and moving things forward with clarity? Or are you holding space, listening deeply, and allowing relationships to develop?

2. Where might you be holding back from the other side of that equation?

3. Where are you allowing yourself to fully receive the support, opportunities, and abundance that are already present in your business?

Because your next level is not found in doing more of what already comes naturally. It is found in strengthening the side that is ready to come online.

There is a grounded confidence that emerges when you begin to trust yourself in both. Your business feels more supported. Your voice carries more weight. Your relationships begin to open into opportunities that feel aligned with who you are becoming.

And this is where growth begins to feel different.

More intentional. More connected. More alive.
